Drinking water in the village Kabe

Kabe is situated in the Ethiopian highlands at an altitude of about 3000 m. For a long time the inhabitants of Kabe had the idea to bring drinking water from a distant source to the village. Around 1500 people would profit from this. 

The financial means of ESAD, however, are insufficient to finance the complete project. ESAD finances important preparatory work such as soil analysis by specialist geologists and negotiations with authorities and village inhabitants. The results of the analyses have been handed to the local authorities who can avail of international support and subsidies for the realization of drinking water projects. They have promised to make the Kabe project part of the official program.
